Mahoning County is my home, and I care about the people who live and work here. Other than being away for military service or school, I’ve lived and worked in Mahoning County all my life. It’s where I grew up and it’s where my wife and I have raised our own family.

So it’s important to me that I do my part to take care of the place I call home. To have the opportunity to support our local courts and to serve all the people of Mahoning County is a true privilege for which both myself, and my talented and hardworking staff, are grateful.

My accomplishments this term:

-We won a major grant from the Ohio Supreme Court to launch a user-friendly online E-Filing system for all of Mahoning County Courts.

-Launched a new courier program that’s designed to increase the number of titles processed for auto dealerships to support our county’s auto dealers who bring in $37 million in sales tax revenue to Mahoning County. We save our local business vital time and money.

-Working to identify a convenient location to open a satellite title office to include drive-through windows to make drop off and pick up easier for residents with plans to expand the hours of operation at the title department.

Increased Accessibility

We’re about to extend our hours during the workweek and stay open on Saturdays to help our hard-working residents who need our services after 5:00 PM and on the weekend.

Improve Usability

Make e-filing a reality in the area courts by 2025. We already have e-filing in the common pleas courts and the appellate court. The area courts are very busy so it’s important that e-filing be available in all four county courts as well.

Continue to make the office more efficient

Partnering with the Ohio Attorney General’s Office to implement a program to assist the area courts in collecting almost $3 million in unpaid restitution, fines and court costs which have accrued from criminal and traffic cases adjudicated over the past five years. The program will not cost the taxpayers any additional money and the funds collected can be put to good use to improve court operations and for technology upgrades.
