Appointment Application
Pursuant to the bylaws changes made on 7/12/22, we have two officers vacancies that will be filled. We also have additional vacancies for Executive Director, Elections Chair, Screening Committee Chair, LGBTQ+ Community Liaison, Communications Director. Applications will close August 5th, 2022 at 5:00PM EST.
Officers of the Party (Vice Chair 2, Vice Chair of Women’s Affairs) must already be a Central Committee Member.
Other appointed officers can be any Democrat in Mahoning County.
Position Descriptions:
Communications Director: Work alongside the Chair and Elections Chair to communicate the party’s message through social media, keep the website updated, write press releases, etc. This can be any Democrat in Mahoning County.
Elections Chair: Work alongside the Chair to develop and execute the strategic plan for that election cycle. Serve as the main point of contact for endorsed candidates in targeted races. This can be any Democrat in Mahoning County.
Executive Director: Manage the day to day Party operations under the direction of the Chair. This will eventually become a paying, full time position. This can be any Democrat in Mahoning County.
Screening Committee Chair: Serve as an independent appointee of the Chair executing the Party’s endorsements process as outlined by the Chair. This amendment can be read by clicking here. This can be any Democrat in Mahoning County.
LGBTQ+ Community Liaison: The LGBTQ+ Community Liason must Identify as a member of the LGBTQ+ Community. They will act as our Party’s official liaison, exploring all pertinent issues and developing solutions and programs relevant to LGBTQ+ issues. This can be any Democrat in Mahoning County.
Vice Chair of Women’s Affairs: This Vice-Chairperson must be an elected
precinct committee person who identifies as a woman. This Vice-Chairperson will act as
the liaison with the Mahoning County women’s community, the Ohio Democratic Party
Women’s Caucus (and local affiliated groups) and explore all pertinent issues and develop
solutions and programs relevant to Women’s issues.Vice Chairperson: Must be an elected precinct committee person of a different gender identity than a woman. This Vice Chair serves as an officer of the Party, doing business as assigned by the Chair.
